Once you have signed up and set up your profile you can start creating your own intellectual space.

  • Upload your articles and get feedback from other users.
  • Use photos and videos to add a visual dimension to your profile.
  • Run a blog to let others know what you think.
  • Set up a community for like-minded people interested in a specific topic.
  • And if you are really passionate about something - set up a portal.

Run your own specialised portal

Portals are a prestigious editorial feature of the website run by users with a proven track record on Upublica. So, if you have established a community or contributed quality content to the site, you may be interested in managing a portal. This will give you prominent exposure on the homepage's User Edited Portals list.

A portal can be run on any topic of your own choice. It allows you to create your own editorial profile, feature articles published by other users, create news stories, and engage with advertisers.

So if you are a historian, running a portal could be the perfect way to pick out, feature and promote the very best historical content on Upublica. Or if you are active in your university's political society, you might wish to share your manifestos and opinion pieces with a wider audience. For a film buff, this is the perfect place to share film reviews with the wider world.

Alternatively, if you are a business, society or organisation and wish to reach a larger readership the Promoted Portal feature on our homepage is the right solution for you.

For further detail use the contact form or see the Contact Portal Administration contact form on your Base. You are also wellcome to contact one of Upublica's editors.

Dissemination networks – how to increase readership

Upublica’s unique dissemination network is built up around student networks from leading universities and offers a rare opportunity to tap into students’ social networks, both in ‘real life’ e.g. through universities’ intellectual societies, and virtually e.g. through Facebook and Twitter.

Network Marketing. By linking up to Upublica’s dissemination networks, serious authors gain access to the wider social networks of committed students.

Editorial team - who runs Upublica?

Upublica is managed like a newspaper by appointed members. Committed members are invited to become part of Upublica's editorial team, responsible for editorial policy - in effect shaping and running Upublica.

Upublica's editorial policy is constantly developing and revolves around a series of different editorial structures: senior editorial boards, student editorial boards, and user edited portals - each responsible for developing specific topic areas. See editor list.

We are constantly on the lookout for new talent, so if you have a passion for online media and feel you have what it takes to become part of Upublica's editorial team don't hesitate to contact us.
